3 DIY Skull Crafts for Halloween Decor

One of my favorite Halloween crafts came after visiting my local dollar store where I found these plastic skulls and it was clear, the DIY possibilities with these suckers were endless! So I picked up a bunch, and I’m going to share 3 DIY Skull Crafts for your Halloween decor!

If you can’t find plastic skulls, you can use foam skulls! Check out our Skull Vase and Floral Arrangement we made with the foam version right here.

What can I do with plastic skulls?

There are so many fun projects you can make with these dollar store plastic skulls! Today we’ll show you how to make three—a skull vase, chalkboard skulls, and a skull candle holder.

1. Skull Vase

Materials needed for a DIY Skull Vase

Plastic skulls
Scissors or craft knife
Spray paint
Hot glue
Water and flowers

Step 1: Cut a hole in the top of the skull.

Step 2: Spray paint the skull your desired color.

Step 3: Check the skull for holes (so water won’t leak out), and seal them with hot glue. Then add water and flowers.

2. Chalkboard Skulls

Materials needed for DIY Chalkboard Skulls

Plastic skulls
Chalkboard paint
Candlesticks
Hot glue
Chalk

Step 1: Use hot glue to attach skulls to the candlesticks.

Step 2: Apply black chalk paint to the skulls and candlesticks. Let dry completely.

Step 3: Decorate the skulls with chalk.

3. Skull Candle Holder

Materials needed for DIY Skull Candle Holder

Plastic skulls
Spray paint
Candle

Step 1: Cut a hole in the top of the skull, large enough to fit your candle.

Step 2: Spray paint the skull your desired color. Let dry.

Step 3: Put your candle inside the skull.

That’s it! For just a couple dollars you have now made your house spooky and fabulous! We love these simple skull projects that add some Halloween glam to our decor!
