Tie Dye Tutorials: DIY Pastel Tie Dye Pajamas

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again – tie dye isn’t just for summer! And today we’re sharing the ultimate cozy-weather tie dye project with these DIY pastel tie dye pajamas! These pjs move away from the classic bright tie dye of summer with subtle blues and purples that are perfect for the colder seasons. Supplies needed to make DIY Pastel Tie Dye Pajamas

How to make DIY Pastel Tie Dye Pajamas

Step 1: Prepare your dye colors according to package directions. We used the blue and lavender for this project. Tip: Test a small amount of dye on a paper towel to make sure the color matches your preference. If you’d like to lighten the color, dilute the dye with more water.

Step 2: Dampen your pajamas and bind in a diagonal stripe with rubber bands.

Step 3: Place the bound pajamas on a raised wire rack so the project doesn’t sit in the excess dye. Apply dye to the pajamas, alternating colors on each rubber banded section.

Step 4: Place the pajamas in the Two Minute Tie Dye container and microwave for two minutes. Let the container sit for 15 minutes, then carefully remove the rubber bands from the pajamas, and rinse until the water runs clear.

Step 5: Wash and dry (we recommend washing alone the first time).
