Cranberry Apple Crumble Recipe with Ancient Harvest Quinoa Flakes

Jump to recipe

Over the weekend the temperature dropped here in New Orleans, and while there was no snow falling outside my window, that little chill in the air got me catching all sorts of holiday feelings that I hadn’t fully locked-into yet since it’s been so warm here, and let me tell you — I took FULL advantage. We pulled out some Christmas crafts, we watched all the holiday movies, and I got my holiday baking on SO hard. In fact, I made an outrageously delicious and festive apple and cranberry crumble (that is gluten free!) that I’m going to share with you today!

To make the recipe gluten free I used Ancient Harvest Quinoa Flakes which were the perfect substitution for the oats you might normally find in a fruit crumble. If you aren’t familiar with Ancient Harvest, it’s a wonderful brand that was started over 35 years ago and is the first company to bring quinoa to the US! Since then, Ancient Harvest has been cooking up modern versions of ancient foods, making it easier to incorporate more plant-based foods into your diet, like with this crumble! Ancient Harvest Quinoa Flakes are a naturally gluten-free substitute for morning oats, are a super versatile substitute in baked goods/desserts/breading, and are non-GMO project verified!

Let’s get to baking!

You KNOW a recipe is gonna be out of this world when just having all the ingredients combined before baking are this pretty. You cannot mess this recipe up, friends! It’s gonna be wonderful every time.

The bubbling fruit around the crunchy edges of the crumble just reeeally gets me. All of the flavors and textures in this recipe are so delicious.  The tart cranberries, the sweet apples, the nutty quinoa with the crunchy nuts — it’s just too good. Top it with some ice cream, whipped cream or just eat it plain! You can’t go wrong!

You’re gonna love this gluten-free twist on a classic crumble and will be so pleased with the result! Ancient Harvest Quinoa Flakes give this crumble a wonderful flavor and texture and pair so well with fruit! Plus, they are packed with the complete protein of quinoa!
