Now that Memorial Day has come and gone some people might be looking forward to school being over, or the pool days ahead, but me? I’m good and ready for s’mores season! With those long days and warm nights this is the time of year to get nice and cozy out by the fire and make those gooey little sandwiches dripping with melted chocolate and marshmallow! This is the quintessential summer treat, and nothing says summer is here and school is out like a late night out around the fire, sticking it to the usual strict bedtime schedule of the school year with some marshmallow roasting!
And while the simple, classic s’more is practically perfect as is, if you know me, I love to take things to the next level. So, while I was shopping at World Market (my local store in Chelsea is GORG) and wandering their specialty food section, I started dreaming up all of the ways we could give our s’mores more sass. (I mean, it’s hard not to do lots of summer dreaming at World Market with its insane selection of tasty treats and its gorgeous outdoor living department.)
So, I decided it was time to let World Market up my outdoor entertaining game with a s’mores bar full of fun cookies and crackers, amazing chocolate flavors, and fun marshmallow variations. The result? A whole bunch of s’mores combinations that are sure to knock your socks off. Let’s get to the gooey-ness.
Let’s start with cookies. Basically there are no rules here, guys. If it can hold a marshmallow it can make a s’more (Bonus points if it is filled with caramel or coated with chocolate. Just saying). Here is what we used:
Leclerc Celebration Dark Chocolate Butter Cookies
Reko Vanilla Pizzelle Cookies
Mrs. Crimbles Chocolate Macaroons
Daelman Chocolate Stroopwafel Box
Le Petit Normand Cookies (similar)
Chocolate time! Now, while you are shopping at World Market this is sure to be the most difficult part to buy for since the chocolate selection is outrageous there. I had the hardest time narrowing down all of the flavors (everything from bacon to corn flakes to caramel popcorn!) but here is what we landed on:
Chuao Potato Chip Milk Chocolate Bar
World Market® Bacon Milk Chocolate Bar
Ritter Sport Milk Chocolate with Corn Flakes
Lindt Excellence White Coconut Bar
Lindt Classic Recipe White Chocolate Bar
World Market® Caramel Popcorn Milk Chocolate Bar
Now it’s on to marshmallows! We chose 4 fun variations on the classic to add some flavor and fun to the s’mores. Here is what we found:
Hammond’s Vanilla Caramel Marshmallows
Tunnock’s Snowballs
Sweet People Gummi Candy and Marshmallow Sushi
BARU Marshmallow Bars (in store only)
Lastly, we decided to step out of the box a little and add spreads to the mix! World Market has so many fun ways to make food more fun, and these spreads seemed like the perfect fit to make our s’mores even more special:
Strawberry Marshmallow Fluff
World Market® Banana Chocolate Spread
Gaucho Ranch Dulce de Leche Spread
Now that you’ve got all of your delicious ingredients, it’s time to start dreaming up combos! I loved laying everything out on World Market’s gorgeous White Melamine Faux Wood Trays , White Textured Bowls and Verde Bowls, perfect for a S’mores bar that will wow your guests!
Are you drooling yet? I mean, the s’mores aren’t even made and I’m obsessing. How delicious and pretty are these ingredients?
Now let’s get to some s’more making! Although I’m convinced that you couldn’t NOT make an insanely delish s’more by putting any of these ingredients together, here are some of my favorites:
Chocolate, Banana, Cashew S’more
BARU Crunchy Cashew Dark Chocolate Marshmallow Bar
Reko Vanilla Pizzelle Cookies
World Market Chocolate Banana Spread
Banana, sliced (if desired)
These BARU bars (found in World Market stores, not online) are perfect because they have the chocolate and marshmallow all wrapped up with different flavor combinations (this one had a little crunch of cashew)! Since these are covered in chocolate though, they are a bit tricky to roast over a fire, so we recommend warming them near the fire in some foil or zapping them in the microwave and then transferring them to your Pizzelle cookies. Pizelle’s were a major favorite of our taste testers since they are so light and crunchy! Add a smear of World Market’s Chocolate Banana spread and this combination is perfection!
Rainbow White Chocolate S’mores
Sweet People Gummi Candy and Marshmallow Sushi
Le Petit Normand Cookies
Lindt Classic Recipe White Chocolate Bar
With the bright colors of these marshmallows and the creamy flavors of the cookies and white chocolate, this was definitely the kid favorite! Just make these babies like a classic S’more, roasting the cute marshmallows and then sandwiching them between the chocolate and cookies!
Caramel and Dark Chocolate S’mores
Leclerc Celebration Dark Chocolate Butter Cookies
Hammond’s Vanilla Caramel Marshmallows
This combo was my favorite. I loved the thick, creamy caramel-wrapped marshmallows and rich dark chocolate on these cookies. Plus, with this combo all you need is a cookie and a marshmallow since the chocolate is part of the cookie! Be careful to turn these babies regularly when roasting, though, to keep the caramel from getting too hot and dripping.
Caramel Coconut S’mores
Hammond’s Vanilla Caramel Marshmallows
Mrs. Crimbles Chocolate Macaroons
Oh man, this was a yummy one. Stepping outside of the box with the cookie really paid off on this combination! The sweet and chewy coconut is so delicious and pairs deliciously with the caramel marshmallow!
Caramel, Cornflake and Coconut S’more
Ritter Sport Milk Chocolate with Corn Flakes
Daelman Chocolate Stroopwafel Box
Tunnock’s Snowballs
I mean, as a girl who loves and alliteration this combination was made for me. There are so many flavors in this S’more and MAN was it delicious. From the gooey caramel in the Stroopwafel to the toasted coconut around the marshmallow to the crunchy cornflake inside the chocolate, this one knocked it out of the park. Make this S’more! Your summer will be made.
Guys, if you don’t have a sudden urge to get out and start building a fire, I don’t know what to do with you! These combinations were so fun, I this is only scratching the surface of the amazing s’mores you can make with each of these ingredients!
Now tell me, what ideas do you have for making s’mores with these fun World Market ingredients? I’d love to hear your ideas!
Happy roasting!
