Once Memorial Day is over, school is out, or we have our first day over 80 degrees, I get the itch to brighten up some things around my home to make it feel as summery inside as it is outside. However, the best part of summer is keeping it simple with a schedule that is looser and activities that are easy, so I want any changes I make around my home to fit that criteria. So today we are sharing a couple of ways we do just that, making our home a little piece of summer paradise!

One super easy way to make my home summer ready is by filling it with the scents of summer by using Glade® Wax Melts and Glade® Room Spray! My current faves are Lavender & Peach Blossom (the mix of relaxing Lavender and energizing peach is perfection) and Hawaiian Breeze® (Aloha, instant vacay!) Using the Room Spray instantly freshens the air and the Wax Melts release amazing true to life fragrance, perfect for making an inviting home all summer long.

Add to these unique scents some fun and easy DIY projects and your house will be a summer dream! With that in mind, today I’m sharing the perfect DIY project to bring fun summer touches to you home: DIY Flamingo Mirrors!

Here’s how I made them:

Supplies:

-Framed mirrors
-Plastic flamingo toy
-Hook
-Mounting squares
-Spray paint in fun colors (I found these great colors, the hook, and the mounting squares at my local Home Depot!)
-Glue gun/sticks

  1. Remove the frames from your mirrors (or if they aren’t removable, tape off mirrors to shield them from the paint). Spray paint the frame, flamingo and hook. Spray with a second coat if necessary. Allow to dry completely.

2. Reattach frame to mirrors. Use a hot glue to gun to secure flamingo and hook to the the mirrors.

3. Apply mounting squares to the back of the mirror (you may need a couple depending on how heavy your mirrors are) and mount to your wall.

That’s it! Now your home has a little bit of tropical summer fun inside! Add to that a little Hawaiian Breeze® and you’re one step closer to making your home a summer oasis.

Aren’t they darling? Perfect for hanging your beach towels after a long day of fun in the sun and admiring your fresh tan!
