When I was back to school shopping with my kids a week or so ago, the return of 90’s fashion was allll I could see. Sweater vests! Sunflower prints! Cropped everything! It was EVERYWHERE and I felt like my life was flashing before my eyes. Like, didn’t I wear that cropped tee with the lettuce edge and those butterfly clips in my 9th grade photo? I’m pretty sure I did. So, how can I be old enough that a fashion trend has had time to happen once and now happen again!?

[Insert mid-ish life crisis here.]

And while, yes, my mental health may be hanging by a thread due to witnessing tangible evidence of the passing of time, it’s not going to do me any good to fight against it. So, today we are making DIY daisy chain bracelets – a super cute 90’s accessory that is incredibly therapeutic to make while processing the fact that the 90’s were 30 years ago (gulp) and are back with a vengeance. Here’s what you need:

How to make a Daisy Chain Bracelet

Making these daisy chains is a cinch once you get the hang of it, so we’ve made a detailed video showing you how to do it! Watch the video here for all the steps and to practice along with us, and see our tips for success below!

Tips for making a Daisy Chain Bracelet:

  • If you don’t buy a kit with all of the supplies, be sure that the cord or string you are using can fit through your beads twice, otherwise this will be the most frustrating bracelet project of your life. LOL.
  • If you are using a cord or string that frays, use a small needle for ease of moving through the beads.
  • If you are using an elastic cord like we did, be sure to have super glue or jewelry glue on hand to secure your knots. Elastic cord is great because it doesn’t fray, but the knots tend to slip.
  • If you are making a stack of bracelets, we liked making a couple of bracelets without daisies to help break up the bulk of the daisy bracelets. It’s soooo cute.

UM, cute, right? Making these almost makes me forget that my youth has passed me by! LOL and also insert sobbing emoji.
