Backyard parties are one of our favorite parts of summer! We love to have a group together in the backyard on a summer night and we have the perfect simple and affordable way to decorate — a pool noodle garland! This project is so great for decorating an outdoor space because it is larger scale to fill a lot of space, it’s weatherproof and you can make them from pool noodles from the dollar store!

Supplies needed to make a DIY Pool Noodle Garland
Pool noodles
Sharp knife
String
Scissors
How to make a DIY Pool Noodle Garland
Step 1. Using your knife, cut your noodles into 1-2 inch thick slices to create pool noodle beads.
Step 2. String your pool noodle beads on the string.
Step 3. Tie off the end of the garland to one of the pool noodle bead to keep them from sliding off the string. Use scissors to cut the excess string.
That’s really it! In just 3 simple steps you’ve got the perfect summer garland to hang from a fence or deck and give your backyard some party personality! With all of the colors of pool noodles that you can find everywhere, the possibilities for bring pops of color to your backyard party are endless and EASY. I love that this project makes a big statement while being the simplest to assemble. Just toss in some colorful lanterns and your yard couldn’t be cuter!
