If you are social distancing and minimizing trips out of the house but are still looking for a way to be creative, we are here to help! We love the challenge of heading into our craft room and making something from what we already have around, and today we have the perfect project that does just that! We made this colorful and fluffy DIY pom pom pillow from items we had in our craft supply stash, resulting in a fun home decor accessory that is perfect for brightening up your space while you’re staying home! Supplies needed to make your own DIY Pom Pom Pillow
Blank pillow cover
Yarn
Scissors
Cardboard
Hot glue
How to make your own DIY Pom Pom Pillow
Watch the video tutorial here, or follow the steps below.
Step 2: Cut a long piece of yarn and set aside. Carefully slide the bundle of yarn off of the cardboard, making sure that it doesn’t lose its shape. Wrap the yarn piece around the bundle of yarn and tie a tight knot.
Step 3: Using scissors, cut the loops of the pom pom ball to separate them and use scissors to shape pom poms to your desired size. Repeat with all desired yarn colors.
Step 4: Once all of the pom poms are made, attach them in a square to a pillow case, using hot glue. Fill the pillow case with a pillow form and enjoy!
