While researching wedding crafts for a project I was working on recently, I learned that one of the big wedding trends for 2020 is having a garden party theme! Picture lots of florals and spring colors, a little bit of whimsy and some romantic details, resulting in the most lovely event!
Maybe it’s because we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel after a long winter, but the sound of a garden party sounds so appealing. so we decided to try scaling it down to a pretty little party for the ladies in our life! And since Easter is around the corner and the elements of Easter fit wonderfully into the garden party theme, we are giving our garden party an Easter twist that you’re sure to love.
How to Throw an Easter Garden Party
Honeycomb Decoration Garland
You know that we love a balloon garland here on the PLG, but we decided to change things up a bit and try a honeycomb garland! Honeycombs are great because they are substantial and take up space like balloons do, but they add a fun texture and design element that we love! You can find them in all shapes and sizes at Oriental Trading (we really love the diamond ombre ones that we used), then just tack or tape them to your wall in a cluster.
DIY Wooden Egg Easter Cake Topper
A cake is the perfect centerpiece for any party table, and we love having a themed cake topper to really make it stand out! We posted the tutorial for this adorable 3D egg cake topper a couple of days ago (right here), and you can make it snap!
Wooden Easter Egg Planters
We always love doing a craft at any party we throw and we think this one is particularly egg-cellent! It would be so much for to make these tiny planters with your guests and send them home with the sweetest reminder of a wonderful party. You can find the tutorial for these adorable wooden Easter Egg planters right here!
Ceramic Pot Easter Baskets
To stick with the garden theme, use pot planters as Easter “baskets” and favors for your guests! Just cut out a strip of paper, tape or glue it inside your pot and it becomes the most adorable garden party basket! Plus, guests can take it home and replant the plant from their bunny planter in the pot when it out grows the egg!
Floral Paper Place Settings
One easy way to incorporate the feeling of whimsy and romance to your garden party is with your place settings! Roll out a grass table runner and opt for paper plates in pretty shapes and floral patterns!
Now call your girlfriends, get on a twirly dress and get ready to party!
Happy Easter!
