DIY Lotion Bars

I always love thinking of just the right thing to give my mom for Mother’s Day. She is the best of the best and she deserves something new and fun and thoughtful every year!

Handmade goods are always a hit, and moms always deserve some pampering, so I came up with this idea for these DIY Lotion Bars in pushup tubes. I had never made anything like this before, and now I am obsessed.

They are soooooooo easy to make, smell divine, are super convenient, and are the greatest gift idea for mom! Here’s how I did it.

Supplies needed to make DIY Lotion Bars

8 oz. Beeswax Pellets

8 oz. Coconut Oil

4 0z. Shea Butter

Fragrance or Essential Oils

Cardboard Tubes

Label paper

How to make DIY Lotion Bars

In a double boiler (or if you don’t have a double boiler, use a metal bowl over a pot of simmering water), combine the beeswax and coconut oil. On low heat, melt (stirring often) until the ingredients are completely liquefied.

Add the shea butter to the mixture and melt (stirring often) until liquefied. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for 5 minutes.

While the mixture cools, apply the vinyl labels to the tubes.

After the mixture has cooled, add fragrance or essential oil to the mixture until the scent is to your preference.

Carefully pour the mixture into the tubes. Let cool for 4-5 hours so they are completely hardened.

Just think of the possibilities. I can’t recommend these enough. Make them! Make them! Make them!

Moms deserve the best, and this project is THE BEST. I popped one of the extras in my purse, and it is so nice to pull out when my hands are feeling dry. It’s like a big chapstick for your skin! So much fun, and the perfect gift.

Wow these look awesome. Reminds me of the palmers cocoa butter sticks I’ve used. Gonna have to try to make some. I’ve been getting into the essential oils here lately.
Haven’t heard of those 2 yet.
But there are so many I’m sure there’s more I’ll learn about.
    Thanks for thisReplyCancel
