I have absolutely zero shame when it comes to my affinity for Target. I love it. I love the grown up clothes, the kid clothes, the cosmetics, the Dollar Spot (don't even get me started on the Dollar Spot), the home goods – I love it all. On my last vacation, did I get souvenirs for my kids at Target? Yes, because what more could they ask for?

As if I didn't love Target enough already, they went ahead and stocked their already adorable craft aisle with some of my favorite products, like Delta Ceramcoat® Acrylic Paint. And with that kind of easy access to craft supplies, I had to make something suuuuuper cute. This DIY Faux Terrazzo Jewelry Box is the result. Keep reading to see how I made it!

Supplies needed to make your own DIY Terrazzo Jewelry Box

Wood jewelry box
Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic Paint
Knob
Paint brushes
Small screwdriver

How to make your own DIY Terrazzo Jewelry Box

Step 1: Remove the latch hardware from the jewelry box using a small screwdriver.

Step 2: Fill the holes from the latch, and sand flat. Make a new hole centered on top of the lid for your knob.

Step 3: Apply a coat or two of White Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic Paint. This paint is a rich and creamy and provides excellent coverage.

Step 4: Select the colors you want to use for your faux terrazzo tile pattern. This is the hardest part because there are 22 solid colors and 6 new Flash Metallic colors (think metallic, glossy, reflective color) to choose from! I found this cutest design on Pinterest that inspired me, and I used Fuschia, Navy Blue, Hydrangea Pink, Bright Yellow, Rain Gray, Turquoise, Pumpkin to replicate it.

Step 5: Apply your colors by creating random shapes in varying sizes and colors. Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic Paint is some of the best to work with for decorative painting, and works perfectly on wood, terra cotta, plaster and paper mâché.

Step 6: Let the paint dry completely (it dries to a matte finish). Then add your knob to the top of the box.

So next time you are at Target (if you are like me, that will inevitably be soon), find Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic Paint in the craft aisle or at Target.com.
