It’s finally February and chocolate lovers, this is OUR time. We made it through the gray days of January, and now our reward is rows and rows of chocolate in heart shape in every store because there really is no truer expression of love. I’m SO ready for it and today I have a recipe that encompasses the true spirit of this month, a chocolate lovers bark recipe so decadent you won’t need a boyfriend. I mean, no boyfriend is THIS good.
To make this bark we headed to our specialty chocolate mecca, Cost Plus World Market, to get all of the perfect ingredients. Cost Plus World Market is packed with the best high-quality, unique, and delicious gourmet chocolates and candies from around the world. It’s the perfect place to get ingredients because you can find so many varieties of the best chocolate candy which is so vital to making a really great bark. Plus, this recipe is so adaptable, you can change up what you add to it to suit your fancy, and Cost Plus World Market has such a great selection to make that part really fun! I loved wandering my beautiful local Cost Plus World Market in Brooklyn and dreaming up all of the different flavor combinations! For this recipe, we stuck with mostly chocolates, but also added a couple of strawberry flavored goodies to give it some extra Valentine’s Day flavor and color with the Strawberry Pocky Biscuits and Ghiradelli Strawberry Bark. So, let’s get to the good stuff.
Ingredients
Nestle Mars Maltesers
Pocky Strawberry Biscuits
MilkBoy Bourbon Vanilla White Chocolate
De Ruijter Milk Chocolate Sprinkles
Ghiradelli Chocolate Chips (20 oz. bag)
Ghiradelli Strawberry Bark, crushed
Crushed chocolate cookie pieces
Directions
1. Prepare a cookie sheet (I used this metal nonstick cookie sheet from Cost Plus World Market.) with parchment paper. Set aside.
2. Melt chocolate chips in a medium bowl in the microwave, heating in 30 second increments, and stirring after each until melted.
3. Pour half of the melted chocolate chips on the prepared cookie sheet and smooth out with a spatula. Sprinkle crushed cookie pieces on chocolate. Pour remaining melted chocolate chips over the cookies and smooth with spatula.
4. Melt white chocolate the same as the chocolate chips, heating in 30 second increments, stirring after each until melted.
5. Drizzle white chocolate over the top of the cookies and chocolate chips. Use a skewer to marble the chocolates together.
6. Top the bark with the remaining ingredients. Place in refrigerator until set, then break up with a knife and serve.
Is your mouth watering yet? There is so much rich chocolate goodness in just one piece of this bark and the texture added by the crushed cookies, Pocky, and Malteses can’t be beat. This is the perfect treat to whip up for your Valentine, or to package up in some cellophane and give to teachers or friends! Plus, it would be so fun to make at a Valentine’s Day party, especially with lots of fun toppings from Cost Plus World Market around so everyone can make their own unique recipe!
Can you see those cookie-filled layers of yumminess? The decadence! I mean, if you have the willpower to make this bark and share it with someone instead of eating it yourself, that is true love.
What are your favorite chocolatey treats to make around Valentine’s Day? I’d love to hear them! And be sure to check out Cost Plus World Market’s wonderful selection of treats, home decor and gifts that are perfect for your Valentine! Find them all right here!
