It is officially summer vacation! As a mom, this can be a bittersweet event every year since it means more time together during long summer days, and a little more time together during loooooooong summer days (you feel me, moms?). However, summertime with my kiddos makes me think about all the fun I had with my mom during the summer and all the time she spent to make them magical. From crafts, to days at the pool, we were always busy having fun together, and as a result, summertime gave me an essential sense of belonging instilled by my mom.
A big part of these memories revolved around being in the kitchen, working with our hands making salt dough, or cookies, or popsicles on extra hot days. Those moments meant so much, and I want my kids to have similar experiences. Caring for the people you love often comes from your hands, like mom making fun summer treats in the kitchen, and that’s why we are so excited to be teaming up with Softsoap to share a delish recipe for layered juice pops you can make with your kids in the kitchen, and help you to spread more love with your hands! Plus, new Softsoap Hand Wash Plus Lotion™ is perfect for getting hands clean and soft in the kitchen so you can get back to the fun. Let’s get to it!
We had the best time making these pops! My kids loved mixing and matching the juices to make different color and flavor combinations and the recipes are so adaptable, making it easy to toss in or omit any fruits you have on hand. Plus, of course there was lots of hand-washing with Softsoap® Hand Wash Plus Lotion™ (the Aloe Water & Lime and Orchid & Coconut Milk are so perfect for summer and they lock in moisture with a touch of lotion), and lots of fun mixing and pouring with our hands. I mean, the eating wasn’t so bad either.
Aren’t they pretty? They are bursting with fruit flavor and these treats can’t be beat on a hot summer day. Plus, if you don’t have a juicer and want to make things just a little easier, you can also layer some store-bought juices, too!
What summer traditions are you looking forward to once school’s out? I want to hear all of your ideas! To the comments with you!
