Today I have the funnest craft for you! I have been wanting a little Valentine’s decoration for my house, and this Valentine’s Day Wall Hanging turned out perfectly. Now, before we get into this, you should know that I have never embroidered anything in my life. So you don’t need any expertise to do something like this. It was simple (and can I say therapeutic?), and if I can do it, anyone can. So here’s how I did it.

Supplies needed to make a DIY Valentine’s Day Wall Hanging

How to make a DIY Valentine’s Day Wall Hanging
Step 1: Draw or trace a picture with pencil onto your fabric. Scroll to the bottom of the post to get the image I used for my template.

Step 2: Embroider the picture. Like I said, this was my first time. So, I used this awesome website to help me learn how to do different stitches.
Step 3: Fold over the top and bottom edges of the fabric and stitch across, leaving enough room for the dowels.

Step 4: Slide the dowels into the top and bottom openings.

Step 5: Tie the baker’s cotton on each side of the top dowel.

Step 6: Hang on the wall.

I loved making this project. And since the dowels slide in and out, you could easily make other embroideries, and switch them for any season or holiday!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
xo, Sam

That looks gorgeous! I can't believe that was your first time doing it! You're a pro!
