Yesterday marked the official first day of summer and here in Pennsylvania the temperature definitely got the memo. Last night was so humid I had the instinct to get out of bed and get in a cold shower in the middle of the night like a completely normal person (that’s what everyone does, right?). Yep, it’s hot and sticky out there, folks. So today, we’ve teamed up with OREO to share their fun new OREO THINS and create the perfect complimentary DIY project that’s just right for pouring cold glasses of lemonade on a toasty summer day: this fun (and so, SO easy) DIY “Main Squeeze” Glassware Set!

This cute set will be sure to add some sass to your summer table, and add to that the new thinner, crispier, OREO THINS! You can find OREO THINS in convenient 12 packs and in amazing new flavor varieties available at Walmart (OREO THINS Lemon and OREO THINS Chocolate), helping you to beat the summer heat deliciously. Here’s how you make it:

Supplies:
Plain glass pitcher + glasses
Vinyl + craft cutter (I used my Silhouette Portrait. If you’re really patient and don’t have a Silhouette, you could also trace/cut by hand.)
Painter’s tape or contact paper

1. Using your Silhouette, craft cutter, or scissors, cut out your design. Remove excess vinyl from backing, leaving only the design.

2. Using painter’s tape or contact paper, lift your design from its backing.

3. Apply vinyl to the surface of the pitcher and rub firmly. Carefully peel back tape, smoothing down any of the design that may lift.

4. For my glasses, I decided to just take the lemon from the pitcher design and scale it down, then applied them the same way using painter’s tape, one lemon at a time.

You guys! FOUR steps and you’re done! I am so obsessed with these summer cuties! Plus, I know some of you might be wondering if they are dishwasher safe, and the answer is yes! If you use high-quality vinyl (like Silhouette brand), and rub your designs really well they will hold up for a long time through lots of washes. One good example is that I made these mugs this same way and use them almost daily and throw them in the dishwasher and they still look good as new!  IMG_9326 IMG_9330

Fill them up with some fresh squeezed lemonade, a bunch of happy lemon slices, and don’t forget to add the best part…

…the OREO THINS! These babies are the perfect crisp, delicate, delicious snack. Great for pairing with a cool drink from an adorable pitcher in a darling glass. Plus, you can find them in convenient 12 packs, just right for summer snacking on the go! You MUST try the OREO THINS Lemon, in particular. SO delicious (and I’m not just saying that because it keeps us on theme, which you know I love).
