DIY Recipe Hand Towel

Can you believe Halloween is next week? It has been so mild weather-wise in NYC that I can hardly wrap my brain around it. And while, Halloween is so much fun and, HELLO, CANDY, I can’t wait for it to be over so we can move on to the REAL holidays. Halloween is essentially just...

I used Elmer's glue and when I came back after it dried, I found that dried flat on the canvas with no dimension. Would hot glue be an alternative or did I use the glue wrong?ReplyCancel

Not mentioned in the tutorial, the canvas is one you purchase (or make) that is stretched and treated with gesso (as in an artist's canvas) so that it doesn't soak up the glue.ReplyCancel

DIY Ombre Heart Crate

I have this spot in my kitchen where we pile EVERYTHING – mail, magazines, half-eaten kid snacks, receipts, sunglasses. Do you have one of these spots!? DIY Halloween Mugs

When the temperature starts to drop in the fall I start thinking about one warm, rich, chocolatey thing: Hot Chocolate! I like it dark, I like it with mint, I like it with caramel, I like it with marshmellows, I like it with whipped cream, I like it with more chocolate melting INSIDE the hot...

DIY Faux Cement Bookends

I recently got some of the new FolkArt® Painted Finishes and have been dying to try the concrete finish. I love how concrete looks in decor, but have no idea how to create something with real cement! I love how cute and easy these are! Since they’re made of foam and probably not very heavy, are they sturdy enough to hold books or more for decorative purposes? I’d be bummed if a heavy book crushed my pretty new bookend.ReplyCancel

    • prettylifegirlsSeptember 25, 2016 - 6:27 pm

Yes, they are definitely more decorative! I don’t think a book would be able to crush them, but it would probably knock them over. xoxo.ReplyCancel

I see this post is a few years old, but I was hoping you could help. Did the Scotchgard affect the vinyl in any way? I just made some canvas cosmetic bags with HTV designs, and I’m afraid of spraying the Scotchgard over the vinyl, but I want to help keep the canvas clean. Thanks so much!ReplyCancel
