Cheesecake and Crafting Valentine’s Workshop

In December we made a goal to host a craft workshop every other month for the next year. In case you missed it, we started with a Christmas village workshop and today we are so excited to share all the details of our second workshop! For this one we were able to add a fun cooking component by teaming up with our friend, Lisa Childs, from Instant Pot Cooking, to host the ultimate Galentines night out where we learned to make cheesecake in the Instant Pot from Lisa and then, we taught the attendees how to make adorable Valentine’s cake toppers to go on top! We are still riding the high from that fun night of creativity, new friendships and SUGAR. Here are a few highlights!

First, decor! We decided to set up a flashy love-day backdrop that our new friends could snap a pic in front of and remember this fun night! We used plastic curtains, balloons and these gorgeous party fans from Shindigz to make it all happen! (If you want more details on how to assemble a backdrop like this one, we shared a tutorial in this Studio5 segment.) I love all of the different balloon shapes and endless colorful supplies that you can find at Shindigz. It makes throwing a party so easy!

Next, swag! We are obsessed with assembling swag bags because there is nothing better than having a great night with friends and then heading home with a few fun surprises! We teamed up with some wonderful sponsors to make our ladies feel special and we think their bags definitely made their night! To start, Darice Crafts gave each attendee an adorable Valentines bunting banner and cupcake liners! Next, Plaid Crafts sent this unfinished wood heart for crafting, Colorshift and Glitterific paint and brushes, plus, this darling “Love” embroidery kit. Lastly, Wilton sent each attendee these Valentines sprinkles for holiday baking and these colorful sprinkles.

Once the ladies filled up their cups at our soda bar and took their seats, Lisa took to the stage to demo making her incredible cheesecake! I have no idea what kind of witchcraft she is employing here but we, and several attendees, agreed that it was the BEST cheesecake we had ever tasted. You can find the recipe right here! She is truly an insta-pot wizard!

Lastly, it was our turn to teach everyone how to make our cake toppers! We are so grateful to our friends at Darice for supplying each attendee with all they needed to make adorable felt ball cake toppers, perfect for making their cheesecakes extra festive for love day! We had a great time helping  them choose the perfect balls and pom poms, adding a few heart details, and showing them how to put it all together! Everyone left will all the tools and supplies they needed to make their Valentine’s day extra adorable and we had a blast creating with them.

Thank you SO much to all of the sweet ladies who came out to our workshop, and an extra thank you to Darice, Plaid Crafts, Shindigz, and Wilton for making every touch perfect. And, be sure to keep an eye out for our next workshop, coming soon! We can’t wait to make with you!
