This DIY Fuzzy Bunny Sweatshirt tutorial was originally created for Consumer Crafts.
These DIY Fuzzy Bunny Sweatshirts are so fun and easy to make. All you need is a clearance sweatshirt (or shirt or dress) and a little craft fur, embroidery floss, and ribbon. And just like that – you have the sweetest outfit for any Easter/Spring celebration. Keep scrolling for the tutorial!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY Fuzzy Bunny Sweatshirt:
Shirt (these shirts would be perfect!)
Craft fur
Black embroidery floss
Embroidery needle
Fabric glue
Ribbon
Scissors
Pencil/marker
Hot glue
Step 1: Using a pencil or marker, draw a bunny head shape on the back of the craft fur. I printed the shape off on cardstock, cut it out, and used it as a template.
Step 2: Cut the shape out of the fur.
Step 3: Draw eyes and a nose (or whatever kind of face you’d like) on the back of the fur head. Use embroidery floss and back stitches to stitch the face.
Step 4: The eyes and nose got pretty lost in my fur, so trim it down, if needed.
Step 5: Position the bunny head where you want it on the shirt. Then, lift one ear, apply fabric glue to the back, and lay it back down. Repeat with the other ear and then with the face. This way you don’t have to worry about dropping it in the wrong spot with glue all over it (lesson learned the hard way)!
Step 6: Make a bow out of ribbon, and stick it on the ear with hot glue.
Once the fabric glue has dried, the shirt is ready to be worn. It also machine washes and dries beautifully – just turn it inside out.
Can you believe how cute these are? I made a couple for a friend and used different color ribbons for each bunny’s bow. I love that it makes each one different!
And apparently, having a fuzzy bunny on a shirt is what little girls’ dreams are made of because these cuties LOVED them!
