A Visit to Roslyn, NY!

Over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend we were itching to get out of the city for a few days and take things a bit slower. So, we hopped on a train and headed for the little village of Roslyn, NY, on the north shore of Long Island about an hour train ride from Manhattan. I had never heard anything about Roslyn but I knew I loved it the second we stepped off the train.

Roslyn is the most picturesque place, with charming village shops and restaurants, and two historic districts all built around a duck pond that runs through downtown. It was the perfect place to escape the noise and speed of the city, even the movie theater in Roslyn darling!

On top of our affection for the town, the best part about our getaway had to be our stay at The Roslyn Hotel, a gorgeous boutique hotel in the heart of Roslyn. Staying at The Roslyn Hotel was the perfect mix of luxury and comfort. The rooms are so stylish and elegant, the complimentary breakfast was delicious and the cozy amenities like a library lounge with a roaring fireplace made every day so special and fun. We loved returning there after exploring the town and snuggling in the big, fluffy beds. It was just what we envisioned for our city escape. Just look how lovely our room was:

Those beds made it VERY hard to leave so there were lots of long afternoon naps. It was a dream. If you are ever planning a trip to Manhattan, I can’t recommend tacking on a trip to Roslyn and The Roslyn Hotel enough. It’s a quick and easy trip from the city and the most relaxing and lovely place to explore!

And, in case you missed our Instagram stories during our stay, here is a little peek into our weekend:
