Cocoa Acai Bowls Recipe

Thank you McCormick for sponsoring this post. Visit your local Wal-Mart to pick up McCormick Good Morning Breakfast for your family!

Yesterday while standing in the school drop off line, I overheard two dads lamenting about the chaos that inevitably comes with mornings. One mentioned that even when it seems like everything is going smoothly there is always a curve ball, leading him to recount a story about a morning when his son wanted to take his mug of hot chocolate to school so he put the (lidless) mug full of the stuff in his backpack, and I THINK you can imagine the rest. As a mom of two little sweet tornadoes I completely understood their pain. Mornings around here often involve tears, thrown clothes, spilled cereal, and arguments over the things I am packing in the lunchbox. However, I am 100% more equipped to handle it all when I have a good breakfast. That’s why I’m so excited to be sharing my new secret weapon for awesome and easy breakfasts, McCormick Good Morning Breakfast Toppers! These babies come from a new break-through line of products to help you elevate your breakfast game in easy and delicious ways.

McCormick Good Morning Breakfast Toppers give your breakfast favorites an instant flavor upgrade:

  • Sprinkle on yogurt, cottage cheese or fruit.
  • Stir into hot cereal for a crunchy twist.
  • Shake on buttered bagels or toast.

Plus, they come in a variety of delicious flavors to really help you change things up. I am obsessed with putting the Cocoa Banana with Chia and Flax topper on my Cocoa Acai Bowls, and I’m sharing that recipe with you today! Here is how you make them:

Cocoa Acai Bowls

2/3 frozen banana
1 100g packet acai puree
1 tbsp cacao powder
2-3 tsp maple syrup (for sweetening, if desired)
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

For garnish:
McCormick Good Morning Breakfast Toppers (I used the Cocoa Banana with Chia and Flax)
Sliced Banana
Sliced Strawberries
Blueberries
Cubed Mango
Sliced Kiwi
Shredded Coconut

Directions:
1. Combine frozen banana, acai mix, cocoa, sweetener and almond milk in a blender and blend until smooth.

2. Pour blended mixture into bowls and tops with garnishes. Serve immediately.

Aren’t they gorgeous? And they are so easy and delicious. I love chopping a bunch of fruit at the beginning of the week and keeping it in the fridge so I can whip these up in a snap. Plus, there are so many variations. You can add peanut butter for some added protein, try different fruits, or add nuts! Plus, with all of the flavors of McCormick Good Morning Breakfast Toppers, the flavor combinations are endless so you will always be well fed in the morning and you’ll never get bored.

Adding cocoa to these makes them feel so decadent so sometimes I have them as a healthy dessert since it can really take the edge of any sugar cravings I may have. Plus, the McCormick Good Morning Breakfast Toppers in Cocoa and Banana with Chia and Flax give such a delicious cocoa flavor and crunch. Just thinking about it is making my mouth water!

What are your go-to recipes for a good morning? I’d love to hear!

Happy eating!
