Now that school has started again, our calendar is filling up with meetings and appointments, making the lazy days of July feel so far away. To combat this busy schedule, we like to have a couple of designated family nights a week where we can spend time together without any distractions, and for me, family time HAS to include baked goods. My kids are obsessed with getting in the kitchen and helping mix, crack eggs, and pour anything they can, and I’m obsessed with eating delicious things so this works for me. These family baking moments mean so much to me since I know they are fleeting and I love getting together with my people in the kitchen.

So, today I am sharing some of our favorite mixes from a recent family night, the NEW Pillsbury™ Girl Scout Cookie™ inspired mixes available at the Kroger Family of Stores! These baking mixes come in kits to provide everything you need to create Girl Scout Cookie™ inspired treats with Pillsbury™, and have the insanely delicious flavors of my favorite Girl Scout Cookies™! Plus, I am sharing a tutorial for a stylish and easy cake plate that you can use to display your creations in your home, or that you can use to share the deliciousness with friends. Here’s how I did it:

Supplies:
Wooden Hexagon Vase
Hexagon Plate
Plaid Painted Finishes, Barnwood Tint & Wax
Paint Brush
Craft scraper or credit card
Strong craft glue

  1. Start by painting your vase with the barnwood tint. Cover the entire vase and let dry completely. Once the tint has dried, apply a generous amount of the barnwood wax to one section of your vase.

IMG_06522. While your wax is still wet, use your scraper or credit card to scrape off the excess wax. This technique will press the wax into the grooves of the wood leaving this super cool barnwood effect. Continue this process in sections until the entire vase has been scraped.  Let wax dry completely. IMG_0653

3. Apply craft glue to the top edge of the vase and firmly press plate on top. Let dry completely.

That’s it! This project is pretty much the easiest cake plate DIY ever! I am obsessed with the modern design of the plate and base and love the contrast of the rustic barnwood technique.

Now that your cake plate is done it’s time to get in the kitchen and start baking some treats! There are so many delicious flavors to choose from in this new line but the Girl Scout® Caramel & Coconut Cupcake Mix and the Girl Scout® Thin Mints® Brownie Mix were the ones I HAD to get my hands on. We started by making the Girl Scout® Caramel & Coconut Cupcake Mix. Look how delicious:

HEART EYES, RIGHT? They were so delicious and so full of caramel and coconut flavor. Plus, how cute are they sitting on their new home?
