Happy Christmas Eve, friends! This year we have SO much to be thankful for, I can hardly put it into words. If you follow either of us on instagram you may have seen that Good Morning America flew me and my little family home to surprise my family for Christmas! I had written a letter for their “Home for the Holidays” contest and somehow (I STILL can’t fathom HOW) I won. It was insane, wonderful, and is such a blessing to be together with Sam and my whole family. It’s just too much.
It all started when I saw a commercial one morning during GMA asking for people who can’t make it home for the holidays this year to write in and tell them about it. Thanksgiving had just ended and even though our little family had the best time together, I couldn’t help but begin feeling bad for myself about not getting to be with my family for another holiday. So I wrote in, mostly for the catharsis it brought to tell someone how I was feeling about missing my family, and forgot about it. A few days later I received my first call from GMA.
I think the feeling of sitting in that limo looking through the glass at my family’s faces as they wait to see what could possibly be inside will be a memory I will go to during every hard moment or down day I may have for the rest of my life. It was big and wonderful enough that it will always make my heart fill up every time I think about it and I can’t believe we were given that kind of memory. We are so grateful.
