PLG Loves: Sauder Furniture

When I moved into my new house recently, the extra space we acquired was so wonderful but so overwhelming. What in the world do I do with it? I had no idea. As a result, I have been on the hunt for affordable ways to furnish it since unloading the last box. When I came across Sauder furniture it was a breath of fresh air since their selection is amazing and the prices of many of their items are totally reasonable for someone with a husband in graduate school on a student budget. (FYI they have a BOMB clearance section right now with ridic discounts. Just saying.) In addition, when they sent me this desk I could have passed out from the cuteness. The color, design, and gorgeous craftsmanship were exactly what we were looking for to fill some bare spaces in our home. Plus, putting together the desk was actually a fun project and relatively simple, and we have loved having it in our home.
Along with the affordability of the desk, I styled it for under $20, getting the chair, jars and books from our local thrift store, along with some cheap fresh flowers from Trader Joes, and a rug from TJ Maxx. The mirror on the wall was also from the thrift store and given new life with a coat of white spray paint. After that, BOOM. The office is born.
Now, wanna come over and get some work done? Or just sit at that pretty desk with some mint chocolate chip ice cream? That’s good because mint chocolate chip is ALL I think of when I look at that thing. The color! How do you not lick that?
In conclusion, happy furniture shopping and/or mint chocolate chip ice cream eating.
