This project was originally created for Consumer Crafts.
I love repeating positive thoughts to myself every day. So I was pretty excited when the idea came to put some of my favorite affirmations on something I use all the time. That’s how these DIY Affirmation Water Bottles were born. If you aren’t familiar with the idea of affirmations, they are simple messages that you repeat to yourself over-and-over. As you repeat them, they begin to worm their way into your mind and manifest in your life. With these bottles, every time I take a drink I am reminded of encouraging thoughts that help me focus on the positive. Scroll down to see how I made them!
Supplies you’ll need to make your own affirmation water bottles:
- Plain Water Bottles
- Vinyl (two colors)
- Cutting Machine (I use a Silhouette CAMEO)
- Food-grade Sealant
Step 1: Cut stripes out of one color of vinyl. Cut affirmations out of the other color. Weed the excess vinyl.
Step 2: Apply the stripes with transfer or masking tape. I found it really helpful to put a piece of skinnier tape at the bottom of the bottle to help me align the stripes and make sure they were straight.
Step 3: Apply the affirmations above each stripe.
Step 4: Drill a small hole in the the lid.
Step 5: String fishing line with beads. I used two pieces to make it extra strong.
Step 6: Thread both ends of the fishing line through the hole in the lid. add a small bead to one end (to keep the string from going back through the hole) and then tie both ends together securely. Trim off the excess fishing line.
Step 7: Apply a bead of food-grade sealant over the knot to ensure water won’t leak through the drilled hole.
Now you have a cute beaded loop for holding your bottle.
Let the positive thinking begin. Happy crafting!
