A glimpse inside Liz’s apartment in New Orleans!

Last week we gave you a peek at some of the new art I’m loving at my new apartment in New Orleans and today we are going to give you a better look inside! Last year I shared the main living area in our apartment in NYC. If you remember, that apartment was 550 square feet and had no dining area and no space. Here in New Orleans we are still living in the city so we are still in an apartment but we’ve gained about 800 square feet which makes it feel like a mansion compared to our home in NYC!

Since we have a little more space we had to think about adding some pieces to the ones we shared in our NYC post and we have had so much fun doing it! Take a look:

You can see that our space is pretty open with our family room connecting to our dining room, which feels like a big gift to me since we didn’t have a dining room or even a proper kitchen table at our place in NYC. This area brings everyone together but we don’t have to be on top of each other like we were before.

Some of my favorite pieces that we added to the space are these light fixtures from Kichler Lighting. Before there were two old, outdated chandeliers hanging in the living and dining room and these babies made the space instantly cooler. I stressed a lot about choosing lights for these rooms since you would see them both once you came in the home, and I didn’t know if I should mix metals, keep them the same, or if I should choose two smaller pieces so it wasn’t too much, but in the end, I found two cool fixtures I loved and just went with them because I loved them. That’s probably the best home decorating advice I can give!

I love the family room in this space so much, but everyone who comes to visit raves the most about the dining room and I think a big reason is because of the the Spoonflower wallpaper. It’s a room-changer:

Guys. You HAVE to put up some Spoonflower wallpaper in your house. First, the sheer volume of design options you will find on Spoonflower is mind-boggling. Literally, any idea you have for your wall can be found there, OR you can design your own! I chose this wonderful Art Deco Triangles design that I want to marry. It makes the room. Heck, it makes the HOUSE. Plus, it’s easy to put up and fully removable so there are no worries if you are renters like us. We. Love. It.

If you are thinking of pulling the trigger on your own wallpaper from Spoonflower (and you SHOULD), you can use code PrettyLife10 now through November 30th for 10% off your order!

It’s just so good. Bold enough to make a statement but neutral enough to go with just about anything. Did I mention that I love it? I LOVE IT. You’re the best, Spoonflower.

A couple other things to mention in here: That cool credenza is from Sauder and it’s stylish and hides all the things which I love, our kitchen table and stools are from Amazon and our silver chairs are from Target.

Another cool light from Kichler. This sucker brings the drama and I looove it.

Well, that was fun! Thanks for coming over, friends! And if you’re ever in NOLA, you know who to call for beignets and girl talk.
