DIY Recipe Hand Towel

Can you believe Halloween is next week? It has been so mild weather-wise in NYC that I can hardly wrap my brain around it. And while, Halloween is so much fun and, HELLO, CANDY, I can’t wait for it to be over so we can move on to the REAL holidays. Halloween is essentially just a warm-up so we are primed and ready to go super hard once November comes, so I say we don’t waste another second and start the holiday crafting right now!

Today we are going to make these fun DIY Recipe Kitchen Towels. They are a fun way to pass down recipes as an heirloom and are a great gift idea for the holidays. I mean, what hostess on Thanksgiving wouldn’t love your favorite pumpkin pie recipe on some gorgeous towels?! Plus, this project is SO simple to make and when you use heat transfer vinyl from Expressions Vinyl the result will be gorgeous every time. Here is how you make them:

Supplies Needed:

Expressions Vinyl Heat Transfer Vinyl (I used Vegas Gold)
Plain Kitchen Towel
Craft Cutter (I used a Silhouette CAMEO 3)
Iron

  1. Transfer your recipe into your cutting software and embellish with patterns or flowers. Cut out your design using your craft cutter (Don’t forget to flip your design horizontally!). Weed out the excess vinyl so that just the design is left.
  2. Place the design on your towel and cover with another towel. Press with a hot, dry towel in 30-second increments until the design has adhered completely to the towel.

3. Peel back your backing to reveal your gorgeous new hand towel! That’s it! You’re done!

This is such a fun and easy project with such sweet meaning. Recipes can be so personal, and holiday recipes are especially special. This is such a fun way to share them!

What recipe would you put on your towel? I’d love to hear!
