One of my favorite things about crafting is using it as an excuse to get together with friends or family to do something creative. I have found that most people think DIY projects are too complicated or too difficult, and that is a misunderstanding we intend to clear up! We like crafts that are simple, not too time consuming, and give us a great end-product for a small cost. We also prefer crafting projects that use basic supplies – like Apple Barrel® craft paint, which is the star of this project and is an affordable brand of acrylic paint you can find at Walmart. I wanted to teach a couple of my friends that crafting doesn’t have to be a huge ordeal, so I threw a little craft party to make some spring banners for our houses. We had so much fun and I love how our banners turned out!
Step 1: Fold over and glue the top of your banner to create a slot for the dowel.
Step 2: Place the stencil on your banner and tape it in place. I gave my friends a few statement options to choose from so they could customize their banner to their personal preference, and then I cut the stencils using my cutting machine.
Step 3: Dispense your paint. This is the fun part because Apple Barrel has SO many fun colors to choose from! We all chose different combinations of colors, and I love the variety we ended up with in color palettes!
Step 4: Apply the paint (carefully!) with a sponge spouncer.
Step 5: Remove the stencil.
