All of the festive parties and get-togethers this time of year always get me thinking about what sparkly things I can work into my wardrobe for holiday date nights. I am 100% into any reason to add some sparkle and since holidays make it completely acceptable I like to go all in. As a result, today I am sharing a sparkly little DIY clutch for your holiday date nights along with some of my date night essentials! Let’s get to it!

What you need:
-Plain clutch (You can buy one or I made my own using our tutorial here)
-Metal house letters with screws and nuts (you can find these at your hardware store)
-Screw Driver
-Mod Podge
-Glitter
-Brush

1. Paint the letters with a thin layer of Mod Podge then cover with glitter.

2. Once the first layer has dried, cover glitter with another thin layer of Mod Podge and let dry completely to seal in the glitter.
3. Arrange dried letters on clutch.

4. Poke holes where you plan to insert screws.
5. Screw in letters, attaching with nuts inside the clutch.

6. You’re done! (You can also whip up a quick tassel if you have extra fabric.)
Now that we have the perfect clutch for a holiday date night, let’s talk date night essentials! There are a couple of things that never leave my purse like my phone, some mints or candy (Since I can’t go 10 minutes without eating something. Sue me.), and some bright red lipstick, but I always keep a couple of other key items to make date nights work since, with two little ones, they can be few and far between!

Some other essentials that have to be in my date night clutch? First, Emergen-C! If you are anything like me then you are always going a mile a minute and the second your body sees that you might start to relax (like on a date night) it decides that now would be a great time to sabotage you with a cold. Having Emergen-C in my bag is the best because I can use it to combat the sabotage since it let’s you let your healthy out!

Next, I have to have my Advil Tablet Vial. I refuse to let a sneaky headache ruin date night and nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers).

Last, ChapStick Total Hydration is a huuuuuge must for date night since it visibly renews lips. It’s a total must for getting your date-night-kissy face on.

Find all of these date night essentials at Walmart!
What are your date night essentials? I’d love to hear your tricks and tips!
